Proper setup of your new remote-controlled (RC) helicopter receiver can save you a great deal of flying frustration, not to mention money from repairing your model after it crashes. Newer six-channel transmitters may seem complicated both in setup and in use, but they allow for a more realistic flight performance and a smoother, more balanced flight. Most six-channel transmitters come with a digital setting ability, enabling you to set the helicopter receiver from the transmitter and align your transmitter with the receiver’s plug settings. Install the radio receiver crystal into the remote-control receiver and the transmitter crystal into the transmitter, and then install the receiver into the helicopter. Ensure that the radio transmitter is set to zero elevator trim and subtrims and that the throttle is set at midstick level.
