How Do You Set Up A Bead Loom?
Bead Looms have been used by Native Americans to create beaded designs for hair and other decorative uses. There are many uses for bead looms including making artistic bookmarks, keychains or other glass bead projects. Here are a few steps to to help set up a bead loom. Using graph paper and colored pencils, sketch the design. Determine how many rows of beads and cut beading thread equal to this number plus one. The length of the thread should be enough to wrap once around the take-up spools on either end. Ensure each thread is in a separate coil of the end springs, starting in the middle and working out. Ensure the threads are contiguously spaced. Cut a piece of thread twice the length of the loom. Tie one end to the leftmost thread in the loom and thread the needle with the other end.
