How Do You Set Up A 2-Channel DJ Mixer?
There is more to being a DJ than simply playing songs. A good DJ must be able to mix–to combine two or more tracks, either to smooth the transitions between them or to create an entirely new, unique sound. A mixer allows you to play two tracks simultaneously through a single sound system, or to smoothly fade between them. The most basic mixer is the 2-channel mixer. Determine how you want your DJ set-up to be arranged. Typically, the mixer will be placed in the middle, with one device on the left and one device on the right. Arrange your equipment accordingly. On the back panel of the mixer, you will find a row of RCA input jacks. Plug the cable attached to the device on the left into the jacks marked “Channel 1”–red-to-red, white-to-white.
