How do you set the timing on a Cub Cadet LT 1024 ?
What brand of engine does it have? Briggs, Kohler, and Tecumseh don’t have any way of adjusting the ignition timing. The timing is set by the position of the flywheel in relation to the crankshaft and that is controlled by the key between the flywheel and crankshaft. If you hit something hard with the blades you could partly shear the key and the timing could be off a bit. Usually the key shears all the way and the engine won’t start. To inspect the key you have to remove the engine cowling and the flywheel nut to see if the keyways are aligned.
