ActiveX is a Windows-based software application that allows certain applications to gather data, display animation, and run various programs when the user interacts with the web page. Users have several options for controlling how ActiveX works as they surf the web. Locate the Active X Controls options. Select Tools from the Internet Explorer toolbar. This is located at the far right of the browser’s tool bar with a cog symbol. Select Internet Options. A dialog box will appear with several tabs across the top. Select Security, the second tab from the left. Choose Custom level settings. Select “Custom level…” near the bottom of the Security tab.
