How Do You Set A Watch With Tide Tables?
Watches with tide tables are used all over the world by sailors, surfers and others to monitor the change in tides. Tides change approximately every six hours based on the position of the moon relative to the Earth’s orbit. Tide watches display the amount of time remaining until the next high or low tide to the user. No matter what you use your tide watch for, it is important to know how to set it accurately. Choose the region you will set the tide clock for. This could be any region in the world that you want to track. Search for tidal times in a newspaper or on a website (see Resources). Either one will provide you with accurate tidal times for your chosen area. Set the time on the watch. Set the time on the watch to the next tide (low or high). Identify the difference between the time of day and the time of the next anticipated low or high tide and set the your watch to that time.
