Have you ever thought that the burner on your heater was cutting off to early and just barely getting your house up to temperature? Does your heater run a little longer which makes your home over heat a few degrees? It could be the anticipator on your thermostat is set wrong. Below is a real easy way to set it. Check your heaters primary control for current rating, set anticipator to rating value given. If no rating is given continue. Turn power off to heater or low voltage circuit. Snap off cover so terminals are visible. Disconnect the wire on the “W” terminal of the thermostat. Connect 1 lead of your ammeter to the wire you removed and connect the other lead from your ammeter to the “W” terminal. Turn on power to heater or low voltage circuit. Raise thermostat temperature to make heater turn on. With heater running wait 1-2 minutes and read ammeter and write down result. Turn power off to heater or low voltage circuit, and disconnect ammeter. Set anticipator to read out that you had
