When serving in badminton, you must be inside the square on the right side of the court, and as in tennis, you must serve inside the square diagonally across from you. Serves in badminton must be made underhand. Stand with your left foot forward if you are right-handed, and vice versa if you’re left-handed. Bend your knees slightly, which will allow you to react if your serve is returned. Hold the racket in your dominant hand. Hold the shuttlecock with the index finger and thumb of your nondominant hand so that the rubber ball tip is pointing toward the ground.
