How Do You Send Free SMS Text Messages Through Gmail?
Are you tired of paying extra for texts or running out of texts every month? Send and receive texts for free with gmail! Create a free GMAIL account if you don’t already have one at Gmail.com. A single Google login will work across all of their services (email, documents, calendar, etc.) Once logged in, you will need to go into go to the Settings section for the Gmail Labs. I have provided a direct link below. Scroll down to “Text Messaging (SMS) in Chat” and enable this function. Make sure you save your new option at the bottom of the page. You may look into other functions and enable them as well. Then return to the main Gmail page. Scroll your mouse over the person you want to text. Once the popup shows up, go to Videos and More. Click Send SMS. Enter that person’s mobile number and send a message as you would regularly do for chatting, and that person will receive a text on their phone from a 406 number. You will receive their responses back to you on the same chat window.
