I’ve been receiving a huge number of phone calls and emails asking me how to sell beats online using websites like MySpace and Soundclick. A lot of people seem to think that they can’t make money selling beats online, even if they make high quality instrumentals! This simply isn’t true and I’m here to terminate those rumors. Selling beats is actually easier and more possible now, in the digital age, than at any other time in music history. This is actually the most exciting time for you as a rap producer to make serious money without a connection. I’ll tell you why. Before the internet was invented (only 10 years ago, mind you) it was almost impossible to sell your beats without doing huge amounts of work. You had to do one of the following: 1. Find a record deal, sign a contract and make beats for a small group of rappers within that label 2. Go to every night club, open mic night and rap concert in town to attempt to network with rappers 3. Work with a group of rappers in high hopes
