How Do You Seal Marble Tile Grout?
Grout is a mixture of water, cement, sand and dyes that is used to fill the joints between tiles. The grout for marble tiles, which are set closer together than ceramic tiles, may not contain sand. Because grout is a porous material it can easily absorb liquids, dirt and other soils that will over time stain the grout. However, when a penetrating sealer is applied to the grout the sealer will form a protective barrier against stains. Both marble and grout need to be sealed in order to protect their appearance, so it is efficient to seal them both at the same time. Clean the tiled surface of any debris, dust or soils and allow it to dry for 48 hours before sealing. Any moisture in the grout or marble with diminish the effectiveness of the sealer. If the sealer did not come in a spray bottle, empty it into one. Test the sealer on a small inconspicuous patch of the grout and marble and allow to sit for 15 minutes. If there are no undesired effects, then proceed. If you notice any drastic
