How Do You Seal Grout On Marble Tile?

0

Marble and grout are both porous materials that need to be sealed in order to protect their appearance and durability. A penetrating sealer contains silicates that will absorb into the marble and grout, forming a barrier against stains. Since both your marble and grout need to be sealed, it is best to do the entire surface at once. A penetrating sealer can be found at most tile-supply shops and some hardware stores. Completely clean the marble surface of any dirt or debris and let it dry for at least 12 hours before applying sealer. Pour the sealer into a spray bottle if it did not come in one. Spray the sealer thoroughly across the surface of the marble and grout until it appears wet. Spread the sealer with the terry cloth towel evenly across the surface. Let the sealer sit for 15 minutes. As it hardens it will expel itself onto the surface. Sponge off any excess sealer that has pooled on the surface.
