How Do You Seal Grout On Ceramic Tile?

0

Properly glazed ceramic tile is highly moisture-resistant and won’t pick up stains easily. But if the grout between the tiles remains unsealed, it will absorb moisture, stain easily, and crack and mildew. Grout is a form of cement, and like any cement, it needs to be sealed against the elements or it will absorb them. Make sure to get the grout very clean before sealing, or re-sealing, so you don’t seal in dirt and stains. Mix a cup of bleach a cup of water in a spray bottle. Spray the grout lines throughout the tiled area with the bleach-water solution. Let the bleach sit on the grout lines for about five minutes. Re-spray after five minutes. Scrub the solution into the grout with a toothbrush. Rinse well. If the grout isn’t completely clean and free of stains or splotching, repeat the process until it is. Let the grout dry for one to two days. Brush liquid grout sealer over the grout lines, one at a time, using a small foam paintbrush. Start in a corner of the tiled area and work out
