Using blue painter’s tape, tape off at least 4 inches past the edge of the tile on any surface that is nearby. Wood and other products can stain if the sealer gets on them. Make sure the slate surface is clean of debris. Open any windows or doors nearby as you will need plenty of ventilation against the fumes. Using the sprayer, apply an even coat of sealer. If the area in question is small enough, you can use a paint brush instead of a sprayer. Let dry, according to the instructions on the sealer container. Remove tape.
