How Do You Seal A Brick Driveway?

But an investment in a brick driveway should be protected adequately from the elements or it can suffer damage over time from rain, snow, freezing and thawing. Application of a brick sealant is an essential part of maintaining your brick driveway. Choose a temperate day for the sealing process. Most brick sealants require temperatures of above 50 degrees, with no direct sunlight, for the best application results. Check your weather forecast and try to choose a day that best matches the desired conditions–warm, but overcast. Sweep the driveway clear of any dirt or loose debris. If you have a large area to work on, a leaf blower will work well for this step. Rinse the driveway with water, using a hose and pressure nozzle. Let the driveway dry.
