Schools are notorious for using tremendous amounts of paper. Conserving paper usage in a school has multiple benefits, from saving trees (good for the environment) to cutting costs (good for the school’s budget and the parents’ pocketbooks). You can implement a series of simple measures in order to save paper in your school. Allot a specific paper allowance to teachers in order to curb unfettered usage of paper and copying equipment. Implement a recycling program in your school. Place recycling bins in all classrooms and workrooms and have a team of students handle the process of collecting the paper. Offer incentives (such as parties or class trips) to the class or classes that recycle the most paper. Instruct students to use the front and back sides of paper for notes and assignments. Invest in sets of small dry erase boards for each class. Each student can use a board for certain activities (such as practicing math problems) instead of using paper. Have students turn in some assignm
