By making some simple changes in your residence now, you can save big bucks on the heating bill this winter and still stay warm and cozy. Start early. Pick a nice day in the fall and inspect your windows and doors for air leaks. Windows that do not create a good seal or doors with a big crack underneath provide places for heat to escape and the cold to enter. If you have noticed this, put up storm windows outside to create another barrier to the cold. Also consider using plastic sheeting on the inside of your windows to seal the cold outside.
