How Do You Sanitize Grains And Pet Food Using Dry Ice?

0

Stored grains, cornmeal, and pet food are often susceptible to being eaten by insects and are often a breeding ground for harmful bacteria. You can use inexpensive dry ice as a very effective and totally safe method for sanitizing your stored grain and pet food. Place 1 pound of dry ice at the bottom of a 5 gallon or larger container. Add wheat, cornmeal, grain or pet food. As the dry ice evaporates it releases carbon dioxide gas, killing insects and bacteria by denying them oxygen. When the dry ice completely sublimates, no trace of it will be left and your grain or pet food will be sanitized and safe to eat.
