How Do You Sanitize A Cutting Board?

0

All cutting boards, no matter what material they are made of require regular cleaning and maintenance. Sanitizing a cutting board is essential in eliminating bacteria that can reside in the grooves of the board left behind from the knife. Also liquids that are left on the board can cause bacteria to grow. It is highly recommended to use one board for raw meat and a separate board for cooked meat, vegetables or other foods. Rinse the board off with warm water and wash it with dishwashing liquid. Spray board with a very diluted bleach solution. This will disinfect the cutting board. To remove odors from your cutting board rinse the board then rub the board with sea salt and let it stand for 10 minutes. Wipe the board with a clean cloth and rinse it clean. This will also remove minor imperfections in the surface.
