This nest needs to go away and fast! Here’s how I did it. Assess whether the nest is active. If the nest is active there will be hornets entering and exiting the nest regularly. If the nest is active, you will need to wait until a cold part of the day (probably early morning). The hornets are less active at these times. If the next is not active, the job will be easy. Wear thick clothing and gloves. Have your garbage bag ready to go. It may help to have a partner hold the bag while you dislodge the nest. Quickly remove the nest from its location. This can be done with tree pruners if it is located in a tree. Otherwise, a shovel makes a great removal tool. Quickly run away from the nest, because these hornets are going to be mad!
