How do you round decimals to 1 and 2 decimal places?

0

If you are asked to round a number to 2 decimal places, only look at the first 3 numbers after the point. Look at the third number, if it’s less than 5 – you keep the first two numbers the same. If it’s 5 or above, your round the second number up. E.g. 1. Round 4.36201 to 2d.p. ‘2’ is the third number and is below 5, so the answer would be 4.36 2. Round 3.092 to 1 d.p. ‘9’ is the second number which you look at as it’s only 1d.p., this is above 5 which means you have to round the 1st number us so the answer would 3.1.
