How Do You Restring A Traverse Curtain Rod?

0

A traverse curtain rod is the type of rod that has a cord to one side that enables the curtains to open when pulled. This type of rod uses master carriers and slides along with a cord and pulley system, but occasionally the cord will break and require replacement. Most fabric stores sell replacement cords for traverse curtain rods. Replacing the cord is usually easy to accomplish and much easier and less expensive than replacing the entire rod. Remove your draperies by unhooking the fabric from the slides. Set your draperies aside. Remove your traverse curtain rod from the brackets. Some types require a screwdriver to unscrew the rod from the bracket. Place your rod face down on the floor or a large table. You will see two rectangular boxes, which are the master carriers. The master carrier at the back will have a cord with a knot on each end of the carrier. Use your magic marker to this carrier as “A”. Mark the second carrier as “B”. Cut the cord and knots and discard the old cord. Op
