How Do You Restore The Windows 98 Registry & Microsoft Access?

0

You may need to restore the registry in Windows 98 and restore your installed copy of Microsoft Access after major malfunctions to the system result in an error-prone computer that is unable to use Access or other installed programs. You can do this in around 20 to 30 minutes, after which the problem will be resolved. Restart your computer. Hold down the “Ctrl” key as the computer is starting up. Choose the option for “Safe Mode Command Prompt” and press “Enter.” Type “cd\windows\command” (without quotes) and press “Enter.” Type “scanreg /restore” and press “Enter.” Choose the previous registry you wish to restore and press “Enter.” Insert an Office installation CD into the computer. Double-click “My Computer.” Click the letter of your optical drive and double-click “Setup.exe.” Select the option to perform a “Repair” installation. This will overwrite the faulty Access files with working copies.
