How Do You Restore The Recycle Bin Icon On A Windows XP Desktop?
The Recycle Bin icon on the desktop of Windows XP makes it convenient to delete or restore items. If you accidentally delete the icon, it’s not easy to access the Recycle Bin or restore the icon. To do so requires editing the registry, which stores basic Windows settings. Open the registry by clicking “Start” and then click “Run.” An “Open” box will appear. Type “regedit” and then click “OK.” Find the desktop key by locating the registry key that reads: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace. Right click the registry key, point to “New” and then click “Key.” Type {645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}, and then press “Enter.” Set change as the default by clicking on the new key you just entered.
