How Do You Restore & Show Hidden Files?
The Windows operating system automatically hides system files from the user. This is to prevent the user from accidentally deleting files essential for the operating system to function. You can restore and show these files in the Windows Explorer settings. The files are displayed in Windows Explorer, but some are still set to “Read Only” to avoid the possibility of deleting them. Double-click the “My Computer” icon on your desktop. If you have Windows 7 or Vista, the icon is labeled “Computer.” This opens Windows Explorer. Click the “Tools” menu time and then click “Folder Options.” This opens the current settings for your Windows Explorer. Click the “View” tab. Check the box labeled “Show hidden files and folders” in the section labeled “Hidden files and folders.” Click the “Ok” button to save the changes. Close the properties Window. Double-click the “My Computer” icon again and then double-click “C.” Now that hidden files are displayed, you notice some files that did not display pri
