PFM files are Adobe font files representing fonts that come pre-installed with your operating system. These files can become corrupted over time due to hardware problems or software issues (such as malware). As PFM files are part of the operating system, restoring them can be accomplished by repairing the operating system itself. This can be done in roughly 30 to 60 minutes. Insert the Windows CD into your computer. Restart the PC. Press any key to boot from the CD. Press “Enter” then “F8” to move through the initial installation screens. Select the drive upon which Windows is installed from the onscreen menu and press “R” to repair the files, including the PFM fonts on your machine.
