How Do You Restore Paint On Fiberglass Boat?

0

Fiberglass boats are very sturdy but do tend to lose their shiny appearance over time because of water and the weather. It happens even faster for boats that are in saltwater. Fiberglass boats also get dents and scratches when docking. Fiberglass boats come with a colored gel coat. When this gel coat fades, the only way to get the boat looking new again is to paint it. Restoring paint on a fiberglass boat is not difficult but does require time. Apply a wax removing product to a rag. Wipe down the boat with the rag until all of the old wax and fiberglass sealant is gone. Plug any holes or dents with epoxy putty. Allow the epoxy to dry. Sand any areas where you put epoxy until if feels smooth to the touch. Apply a layer of paint primer that is made for fiberglass to the boat with a paint roller. (See Resources below.) Allow the boat to dry overnight. Apply a paint made for fiberglass to the boat with a paint roller. Paint in one direction. Apply the paint so it is smooth. Allow the paint
