How Do You Restore Crushed Berber Carpet Pile?
Of the different varieties of carpet styles, Berber carpet is best able to withstand the wear and tear of high-traffic. Still, over time, the pile of Berber carpet may begin to have a crushed appearance, and dirt and debris will become more noticeable. If the pile of your Berber carpet needs to be restored, use the following steps to improve the appearance of your carpet. Place the carpet rake directly onto your carpet, and using a push and pull motion, lightly run the rake across the top of the carpet. Work in sections to be sure you cover the entire floor. The raking motion will pull up the pile and help loosen dirt. Vacuum the floor regularly to remove loosened dirt and debris. Use the carpet rake again, working in sections, to restore the crushed pile to its original structure. Wet a towel so that it is damp and apply on top of any areas that still have a crushed appearance. Turn on an iron to low. Once it has heated, run the iron over top of the towel lightly.
