Whether we are at work or at home, we all find jokes in our email in boxes. These can be about a wide range of topics and can be spam or passed on from friends and co-workers. Some of them are really funny and can bring a good laugh during a mid-day slump, but email jokes at work can also get you into trouble. Read your company policy about use of email. It may say that all email is monitored. The policy may say that you can’t send personal email at work. The email policy probably says that sending anything that is sexually oriented or discriminatory is prohibited. Violate the policy and you can be disciplined, even fired. When an email pops up in your in box that is clearly a joke just delete it. Don’t even open it. If it looks like repeated spam, contact your IT department. Call them. Don’t forward the email since it could contain a virus. Call your co-workers, friends or relatives who like to send jokes by email to you at work and ask them to stop. These can include political jokes,
