How Do You Reset Administrator Password On XP?

0

Windows XP allows users to set up and administrator account. The administrator account gives you complete access to the system, allowing you to troubleshoot and fix issues with any of the other user accounts on the system. By default the administrator account does not use a password. It’s a good idea to set up an administrator password immediately upon installing XP and then changing the password regularly. Restart your computer. When the logo screen of your computer’s manufacturer appears, press the necessary button to enter the “Setup” screen. On most computers it will be the F8 key, but it may be F10 or F12 as well. The screen will tell you which button to press. Select “Safe Mode” from the on-screen text menu and press “Enter.” This will boot XP into is safe mode, which will allow you to reset the administrator password. Wait for XP to fully load and for the “Welcome” screen to appear. Select “Administrator” from the options on-screen to log in as an administrator. Click on “Start”
