The Timex 1440 watch synchronizes with time signals sent out from time labs across the U.S., based on time kept by atomic clocks. The watch maintains time accurate to the second by synchronizing with low-frequency radio signals once daily and twice on Sunday. Lack of access to the labs’ transmitting radio waves can, however, prevent synchronization, requiring manual synchronization.
