A network hub is among the most basic of networking devices; both in implementation and troubleshooting. A hub simply rebroadcasts information it receives to all the devices connected to it, minus the one that sent it the information. Hubs can’t be configured in any way. You simply plug them into any network and they’ll integrate themselves seamlessly. At the same time, hubs allow additional devices to connect to the network using Ethernet cables. Unplug the AC power adapter from the back of the hub, or otherwise deprive the hub of power. Wait 30 seconds to let all the electrical current leave the circuitry. This clears any temporary data in memory. Plug the AC adapter into the back of the hub or otherwise power it on.
