The Toyota Camry is manufactured with electric power windows, which use a motor-driven window regulator to raise and lower a pane of glass in each door. This electric motor can wear out or become damaged, and require replacement. The power window motor can be replaced by the average backyard mechanic in about a half hour. Disconnect the battery by turning the positive terminal bolt in a counterclockwise direction. Set the terminal aside. Remove the power window switches by prying up a corner of the switch assembly with a screwdriver, then pulling the entire unit out. Disconnect the wiring harness by pulling the adapter plug from the rear of the switch assembly.
