How Do You Replace The Wiper Multifunction Switch On A 1999 Ford Mustang?
The multifunction switch on a Ford Mustang controls the wipers, turns signals and hazard lights. In the event that any of those accessories stop working and the multifunction switch is to blame, the entire assembly must be replaced. While the switch itself can be expensive, you can save money on the repair by replacing the switch yourself. Raise the hood and disconnect the negative battery cable with the battery cable wrench. Climb into the driver seat and locate the screws holding the clamshell onto the steering column. (The clamshell is the first piece of trim on the top of the column directly in front of the steering wheel.) Remove the screws with the Phillips head screwdriver, and set them aside in a safe place. Pull the clamshell off by hand and set it aside. Disconnect the wiring harness connector from the multifunction switch by hand. Use the Allen wrench to remove the fasteners holding the switch in place. Pull the old switch out by hand. Install the new one in the reverse of h
