Changing the graphics card on your Dell laptop can be an important and necessary upgrade to make once the original card begins to show signs of age. The graphics card is responsible for the performance and quality of the display that you receive on your computer screen during everyday use. While changing the card may sound like a difficult task, it can be done with the proper tools and instructions. Remove the panel on the right-hand side of the bottom of your laptop using a phillips-head screwdriver. Detach the keyboard by removing the screws beneath it on the bottom of the computer and lifting it out of place. As you raise the keyboard out of place, disconnect the cord that connects it with the rest of the computer. Remove the display assembly by removing the screws on the bottom and back of the screen.
