The Geo Tracker is best remembered as a “funky but flawed runabout.” Introduced as one of Geo’s affordable new line of “international” vehicles, the Tracker was heavily marketed through the 1990s and then discontinued in 1997. Chevy continued the design as the Suzuki Viatra. The following details the removal and installation of a new throttle body. Make sure the engine is completely cool before attempting repairs. Disconnect the negative battery cable from the terminal. Relieve the pressure in the fuel system while taking necessary precautions. Drain the cooling system. Take the air intake case from the throttle body and the air cleaner hose. Remove the fuel supply line from the throttle body. Take the fuel return line from the fuel pressure regulator. Disconnect the accelerator cable as well as the automatic transmission kickdown cable from the throttle level. Loosen the bolts on the accelerator cable mounting bracket.
