Ther are two screws (phillips head) inside the rear door or hatch at the light. They screw into the light assembly with chevrolet speed nuts over a plastic tab. Be careful when removing the screws not to drop them inside the panel. Once the screws are out the Light assembly has two plastic tabs that hook into the fender facing the front of the vehicle. Carefully rotate the back of the light away from the truck while pulling the tabs out on the front. Disconnect the plug. The tail light is three pieces the lens, the circuit board assy (with a gasket) and the bulbs (3). Two screws hold the circuit board on to the lens. Remove the screws to access the bulbs. try the LL 3057 bulbs they seem to last longer.
