How Do You Replace The Rear Windshield Washer Jet On A 1998 Ford Escort Wagon?
When you are driving down the road in your 1998 Ford Escort wagon, you will want to be able to see clearly out of your rear window so you can see traffic behind you and approaching on your side. If you turn on the windshield wiper and washer jet and nothing comes out, your washer fluid is either empty, the washer fluid line is broke or the washer jet is clogged. With the washer jet being so vertical on the rear windshield, it gets clogged more often. A new washer jet costs only a few dollars, and replacing it takes little effort. Locate the washer jet at the base of the Ford Escort rear windshield. Grab the washer jet firmly with the pliers below the washer jet. Slowly rotate the washer jet counterclockwise in the pliers to unscrew the jet. Wrap plumber’s tape twice around the threads of the new washer jet. This will ensure a quality seal. Screw the new washer jet in clockwise with the pliers until it is tight and the jet holes are pointing straight up.
