How Do You Replace The Heater Core In A Cavalier?
The heater core on your Chevrolet Cavalier is designed to heat the cabin of your vehicle by running hot fluid through its coils when you turn on the heater. Occasionally, the core can get worn out from use or faulty parts, resulting in the windows of your car fogging up or the heater not producing heat. When this happens, you can replace the heater core yourself in about an hour or two, restoring the heat to your Cavalier and saving you some money on repairs. Disconnect the negative battery cable of your Chevrolet Cavalier from the battery with an open end wrench and move the cable away from any metal parts. Take the cap off the radiator tank and also off of the coolant overflow reservoir, then locate the drain valve on the bottom of the radiator. Place a drain pan under the drain valve and then use a pair of pliers to open the valve and let the coolant drain out.
