How Do You Replace The Fuel Filter On A 1995 Suzuki Sidekick?
The 1995 Suzuki Sidekick has both fuel injected, as well as carbureted engines. The fuel filters are not interchangeable so notify the parts dealer of this fact when ordering a filter. The carbureted filter uses clamp tabs on the fuel lines where the fuel injected engines use banjo bolts. The carbureted fuel filter is on the passenger side of the vehicle just forward of the fuel tank and located in a vertical position. The fuel injected fuel filter is closer to the fuel tank and situated in a horizontal position. Raise and support the vehicle on jack stands and allow the engine to cool completely. Remove the fuel lines from the fuel filter by using the pliers to compress the fuel line tabs and sliding the pliers away from the filter to remove the fuel lines. Allow the excess fuel to drain into the drain pan. Loosen the clamp securing the fuel filter and remove the filter.
