How Do You Replace The Coolant Recovery Tank In A Toyota Highlander?

0

When you service your Toyota Highlander radiator or engine fan, you may accidentally damage your coolant recovery tank, or coolant reservoir, as Toyota calls it. Even though replacing the coolant overflow reservoir is a fairly easy job to do on your Highlander, you want to do it right. Here’s how to replace the Highlander coolant reservoir quickly and easily. Turn off the engine and let your Highlander cool down for at least an hour. This allows the coolant to flow back into the radiator. Detach the coolant reservoir located on the right side of the engine compartment by loosening the coolant overflow hose from the reservoir and remove the reservoir. Be ready with a drain pan and rags to clean up any spilled coolant. Drain any coolant left in the tank into a tightly closed container for proper disposal. Attach the overflow hose to the new reservoir and insert the reservoir into the engine compartment. Fill the tank to the “cold” line with Toyota approved pre-mixed coolant and cap tight
