How Do You Replace The Belt In A Magic Chef Dryer?

0

The Magic Chef line of dryers and appliances is part of the Maytag brand and uses many of the same designs and parts. The belt on the Magic Chef belt is looped around the drum and the idler and motor pulleys just like the Maytag drivers. The belt needs to be replaced occasionally due to wear or cracking from usage. You can change the dryer belt yourself in less than an hour, saving the time and expense of having a repairman fix the appliance. Unplug the electrical cord on the Magic Chef dryer from the electrical outlet and remove the lint filter from the lint filter slot on top of the dryer. Unfasten the screws inside the lint filter slot with a screwdriver. Remove the screws, setting them aside in a safe place. Open the top of the dryer by sliding a putty knife between the top and the base of the dryer near the front. Pull up to detach the plastic clips on both sides. Lift the top of the dryer up from the front. Tilt the lid toward the back of the dryer, leaning it against the wall. L
