How Do You Replace The Baseboard Heater Cover?
Over time, baseboard heater covers can become dented, dirty and rusted. You can replace your own baseboard cover; all it takes is a little time. Heater covers come in five pieces–a back piece, two side covers, the damper and the front cover. While you are replacing the cover, take the opportunity to vacuum the fins of your heating element. This will help the unit heat evenly and properly. Remove the side covers from the baseboard heater, lifting the flaps in the front and sliding them off the unit. Take the front cover off by lifting up from the bottom and popping it off. Place two wooden shims behind the back piece to push it away from the wall. Lift up the damper and pop it off the hanger. Hold up the heating element and use a screwdriver to pop the back cover off the hangers. The back cover and hangers can be removed. Run
