This will not only improve the look of your bathroom, but it can also help stop water leaks from causing damage in other areas of your house (or prevent them altogether). Retiling your shower can also be done fairly cheaply, especially if you re-use your original tile. But as with any home-improvement job, if you’re not sure that you can do it yourself, hire a professional. Remove the hardware (shower/faucet heads, handles, soap dishes, etc.) from the shower. Remove the tile from the walls. If you’re not going to re-use it, you can just take a sledgehammer to the walls, and strip the walls down to the bare studs.
