There are several places in the typical bathroom that are caulked to avoid getting moisture in places where you don’t want it. Normally there are beads of caulk around bathtubs and shower stalls, behind sinks and around toilets. Over time these beads of caulk may attract moisture and form a mildew or mold stain. This can be very unsightly and gives the impression that your bathroom is not clean. Once mold has stained the caulking in your bathroom the only viable option is to remove and replace it. If the stain is not very noticeable you can try cleaning with a bleach solution however, if the caulk has drawn enough moisture to form mold it would be prudent to check behind the caulk as well to make sure there is no other more serious damage.
