How Do You Replace Lafuma Chaise Lounge Elastic Bungee Cords?
If your “zero gravity” Lafuma chaise lounge has worn out, broken elastic laces, here’s an economical way to replace them. First, a caution. Replace one lace at a time. Since there are two upper laces (one on each side for your back) and two lower laces (one on each side for your legs), it’s best to work one side at a time. That way, you can use the other side as a lacing guide. The mesh seat stays in place better, too. Remove the first broken lace. I started with one of the the back pieces. Measure it and cut a replacement piece of cord to match. My piece for the back lace was 29″ long. Wrap tape around the cut ends so they don’t unravel. Knot one end and start re-lacing that side, using the other (original) side as a guide. My chaise had one spot where the laces were doubled. When you get to the last grommet, make sure you knot the end so it doesn’t slip out. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for the other side. Remove one broken lace of the chaise’s leg section.
