Halogen headlights became popular as standard equipment in vehicles due to their brighter beam compared to standard incandescent headlight bulbs. Invented in the late 1950s, halogen bulbs use a tungsten filament surrounded by halogen gas that produces a whiter light, better efficiency, and longer life. Chevrolet, known affectionately by some as Chevy, is a division of General Motors. Chevrolet uses replaceable halogen headlight bulbs in many of its vehicles. Shut off the ignition key and the headlight switch. Open the hood. Remove the plastic trim that covers the opening between the front grille and the radiator support by lifting it straight up until the retaining clips release. Place the trim aside. Remove the headlight assembly from the vehicle if the bulb is not accessible at the rear of the assembly.
