The ball joints in a Ford F350 help to provide support to the 350’s suspension. The F350 is part of the F-series of Ford’s heavy-duty pick up trucks. Because of this, it is important to change the ball joints at regular service intervals. These trucks see a lot of action and running them with worn ball joints can mean critical or catastrophic suspension failure during hauling or towing. The first signs of ball joint failure on these trucks is a steering wheel feedback (vibration). The faster the truck is driven, the more the steering wheel vibrates. The vibration is the result of the wheels shimmying back and forth due to the fact that the joint can no longer support the suspension. Loosen the front wheel lug nuts by turning them 45 degrees counterclockwise. Center a jack underneath the front jack point and jack the F350 off the ground.
