How Do You Replace Cabinet Glass Inserts?
Few interior details lend more charm to a country kitchen than cabinet doors with glass inserts. They glow and sparkle with reflected light, let you show off what’s in your cabinets, and make it easy for a guest to help out while you’re preparing a meal. Occasionally an accident or kitchen mishap will break, scratch or crack the glass insert. If this occurs, you will need to replace the glass insert with a new one. Using the screw driver, carefully remove the retaining clips or tabs from around the existing glass in the cabinet door. Set them aside to be re-installed at the end of the project. Carefully remove the existing glass panel. If it is still intact, save it for possible reuse. If it is broken or cracked, discard it. Using the ammonia or glass cleaner, thoroughly clean the replacement glass. Insert the replacement insert into the center of the door and re-install the retaining clips or tabs you removed in Step 1.
