How Do You Replace Broken Rabbit Ears?
If you’re using a rabbit-ear antenna unit for your TV, then you probably spend a lot of time adjusting it to pick up different stations. If you (or someone much clumsier than you) breaks off one of the antennas, though, you can avoid a life of snow-filled screens by installing a replacement. If your antenna is only bent rather than broken, installing a replacement won’t improve your reception. Make sure your TV is turned off and unplug it from the wall. If you can, draw back or retract the rabbit ears, and disconnect the antenna unit from the TV. Remove the broken antenna from the antenna unit. Bringing the broken antenna and unit with you, go to an electronics store to obtain a replacement that will fit into the antenna unit. Screw the replacement antenna into the antenna unit, and reattach the antenna unit to the TV. Extend the antennas and plug the TV back into the wall.
